1. Everything is NOT included
Cruise ships are similar to floating resorts and have nearly everything you need (accommodations, activities, and dining), but contrary to popular belief, not everything is entirely included in the price of your cruise. At the top of the list are both alcoholic and soda beverages. Unless you book your vacation under a special beverage package promotion or prepay for a kid’s soda package or adult’s alcohol package, you’re going to be paying for every single drink that you consume while onboard your cruise. The best way to prepare for this is to purchase an alcohol package in advance (if you are able to make it worth it!), or if you haven’t booked your summer cruise yet, look for cruise lines that have “free beverage package” promotions!
Other features that aren’t included are select activities such as childcare or kid’s clubs, shore excursions, select specialty dining restaurants, special entertainment, and more. While that sounds like a lot, we guarantee that there are still plenty of free options onboard your cruise ship – such as buffets, nighttime entertainment, games, and so much more. There is always something to do onboard your cruise ship!
